The book is written as a handy reference containing a detailed mention about adverse reactions to the anti-tuberculosis (T.B.) drugs. The authors are known in the field of Pulmonary Medicine, especially Tuberculosis.

The book is divided into 21 chapters based on normal pharmacology of anti-T.B. drugs including the drugs used in drug-resistant T.B., their adverse reactions, drug interactions among them, and the management of adverse reactions with modification of the treatment regimen. Interaction of anti-T.B. drugs with antiretroviral drugs has been described in a separate chapter.

The chapters have separately dealt with the drugs used in fresh and drug-resistant T.B. cases.

The treatment of fresh and drug-resistant T.B. in special circumstances such as pregnancy, liver disorders, and renal disease has been discussed nicely.

Epidemiology of adverse drug reactions has been separately described in fresh and drug-resistant cases.

Treatment strategies in such cases have been described separately for drugs used in fresh and drug-resistant cases.

The chapters have tables and X-rays for better understanding. All chapters have a list of further suggested reading and few have references.

The matter is written in simple language and the description is easily understandable.

I am sure that the book will be useful, and I recommend it for persons attached to the specialty of Respiratory/Pulmonary Medicine, especially Tuberculosis in General, and for postgraduate students of the specialty.
